A collection of photographs of the stunning sights and people of Cambridgeshire by Mexican photographer Mario Guarneros.Read More
Last Sunday my photographer partner in crime Jodi Baxter and I had the opportunity to shoot a London Fashion Weekend 2016 catwalk at the gorgeous Saatchi Gallery.
We shot one of Sunday's "Trends" shows where we met some amazing people, from the Canon UK team to other photographers and even some of the Canon Print team too!, it was just a great gathering of creatives and simply a fantastic opportunity made possible by the official sponsor of the LFWEND, Canon.
Here are some of my photos from the photographer's pit at the end of the runway:
You can find additional images from the event from different photographers and fashion bloggers on Instagram on the following hashtags: #CanonFashionMeet #LFWEND #InstaMeet and of course at my official Instagram page too.
If you are a model, stylist, designer or MUA who's work appear in any of the photos please let us know to add you to the credits.
Special thanks to the following people for making our London Fashion Weekend experience an awesome one:
Canon UK Team: Laura, Sam, Agi and Mark.
Paul Cunningham (@_heropictures) for sharing his wealth of wisdom shooting fashion events with us, you can see more of his work here.

Ras al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary in Dubai
The Ras al Khor wildlife sanctuary is a wetland Ramsar reserve located between busy highways in the ever shrinking outskirts of Dubai at the cape of the Dubai Creek.
Ras al Khor is home to a wide selection of birds and small mammals but it is safe to say that the most famous and representative inhabitants of the Ras al Khor reserve are the over 500 Greater Flamingoes that can be seen at the reserve during winter.
Visiting Ras al Khor
The Ras al Khor site is open to the general public from Saturday to Thursday from 9 am till 4 pm, the opening timings are a bit odd considering that Friday is the day that most people are off in Dubai and for photographers sunset would be a great time to shoot the local fauna but on the other hand this timings could have been decided to protect the reserve from big crowds.
There are three bird hides scattered around the perimeter of the reserve, if you want to shoot the flamingoes at close proximity I suggest that you visit the bird hide near Oud Metha Road (E66), you can find the google map with the Ras al Khor location here: https://goo.gl/maps/5uk92
I recommend a morning visit to avoid the chance of getting there at the same time as the buses filled with tourists, particularly because the bird hides are rather small and the viewing windows are restrictive. The bird hides are equipped with binoculars that you can borrow from the guard on site and the dried palm leaved walls are covered with info on the flora and fauna of the Ras al Khor reserve.
There’s not much more information about the reserve that you can get from their official website (which definitely needs a redesign) but in case you are curious you can check it out here: http://www.wildlife.ae
If you want to kill a couple of hours and do something different than walking aimlessly through the countless malls around the Emirate take a quick drive down the road to Ras al Khor and who knows? maybe you end up becoming a bird watcher hobbyist.
Another plus is that the entry is free of charge which is a welcome change from the tendency to charge for absolutely every activity in Dubai.

Electric Kitty Fashion Editorial with Kiwi Model Jes Body
Electric Kitty Fashion Editorial
Jes and I first met at a fitness photo session for Glory Girls in Jumeirah, or maybe it was at a Salt-n-Pepa concert I covered in Madinat, in any case the outcome was the beginning of a creative relationship of two highly visual oriented people that would result in the experimental fashion editorial photo session: Electric Kitty.
Enter Jes Body
Jes is one of those multi dimensional, super charged and inspirational modern empowered women you read about in magazines and fitness blogs.
Simply put, she is a free spirit determined to achieve her goals and she does so in a consistent and healthy manner.
When she is not back bending in exotic places all over the world she is sharing her wealth of healthy lifestyle knowledge through her website and Instagram feed or performing club dancing and absolutely killing it at Blue Marlin Ibiza.
I am convinced that her days (just as some of my own) consist of more than 24 hours ;)
How that translates for me as a photographer is that Jes is the kind of model I love to have in front of my camera, her positive energy pierces and shines right through the lens and makes its way into the final artwork produced.
From Instagram to Pinterest and into Experimentation
I don't know how it got started but in a spontaneous and sudden departure from fitness concepts Jes and I started to exchange inspirational sexy and trendy images through Instagram (you might actually find our tags @JesBody and @MarioGuarneros all over the sexiest and funkiest images on Instagram) and eventually we ended up creating inspirational boards on Pinterest which pretty much turned out to be the foundation of an imminent experimental photo session.
Shooting At Base Camp and Taking Over Pacha Dubai
After months of talking about it we finally were able to match schedules and set up for the Electric Kitty fashion editorial at Jes’ base camp in Tecom, Jes got in touch with and eventually put in charge of make up and hair Dubai based MUA Anneken StarWalker, to compliment the outfits we had some jewellery and accessories provided to us by upcoming jeweller extraordinaire Joe Upton.
We diversified the session as much as possible and we managed several looks in a relatively short period of time before it was time to call it a day.
Few days later we headed to Pacha Dubai in Madinat Jumeriah where we took over the place as Charl Chaka and Stu Laurie killed the dance floor with awesome tunes while Jes and I continued to photo shoot a bit around the venue.
Shooting with Jes was fun and fast paced, I recommend to anyone to check out Jes Body's website https://jesbody.wordpress.com/ or follow her on Instagram to get some fitness inspiration to kickstart your own healthy lifestyle.
